Why is pageBuzz so
Much Cheaper than the Typical Website Design Firms?
If you were to go to an
average website design company to get a basic ecommerce website
with a shopping cart you would likely pay between $800 and $2500
for the website set up and design. For that price, there is no
real CMS, they usually use some pre made wordpress them and
modify it then there is no continued support unless you pay more
money every month.
How can
pageBuzz do almost the same thing for under $300 or even less?
And then give unlimited help and support forever? How is that
even possible?
Well, it really is a case of
numbers. We do more volume and we have our own proprietary system.
So we have a bigger set of tools to work with that automate
almost everything.
While a design firm will buy
website hosting from a company like us or Godaddy.com or web.com,
we actually manage our own datacenter and in doing that we have
unlimited server resources and programming options.
We have automated systems that
install shopping carts while they do it manually and then they
modify the code to do what they need it to do. Where we have
developed an ecommerce system that already has everything we need,
so we don't have to keep charging every customer for development
time every time we install a shopping cart.
If a potential
ecommerce customer comes to us and they ask for:
A shopping
cart where they can manage the items
The ability to
add custom fields
The ability to
add multiple images per item
The ability to
set shipping options
The ability to
do group based discounts
The ability to
cross sell items
Well, we already have all of
those things, so the development time for us to give the customer
what they need is 0 hours. So we get to
charge $0 for that time.
But the independent website
design firm or programmer may or may not even have the ability to
write programming code, so the have to use something that is
readily available. That may include paying licensing fees or
hiring a programmer to make changes.
If they can find an open
source free cart to use, they will usually have a detailed setup
process that can take a few hours. They to get the components you
need to set the shipping, they might have to install a module for
UPS, FEDEX and other options you want.
But lets say they can't find a
module to do what you need and the cart does not support adding
custom fields?
They have to write the code to
do that and even paying freelancers in India (the leading IT
country with the most outsourcing) can cost hundreds of
dollars by the time they get it done. And that is just for one
component. The more you need, the more you pay.
So the time to needed create
any shopping cart can be extensive even though you used a program
that was already written. We know this because it has taken10
years to get our shopping system to the level it is now. And all
that costs money and has to be passed onto the customers.
In our case, it is
spread over thousands and thousands of customers, in the case of
the design firm, it is all paid by one person, you.
This business model is why we
have a superior CMS to manage websites and design firms use
simple free solutions like wordpress. They just can't compete
with software developers that have 15 years into developing
programs. Customers will not pay the $100/hour for 15 years to
get what they need, it is just cost prohibitive and not very
timely.
When one
person has to bear all the cost of development the price of
websites can easily be $10,000 or $20,000 just for a basic
website that does not even have the variety of features that
pageBuzz gives you for $20 a month.
Knowing the
Products
Additionally, we support only
1 system. So again, we are experts on what we do and we do it all
day every day.
Being that the web developer
you paid had to outsource some of the work, they don't even know
how the programs work at all, so even if they do offer support it
is not going to be that good.
Distributing Costs
Over Many Users
But we support thousands of
people, so if we take $1 per month of the hosting fee, we can pay
our staff, phones, and office expenses. The independent
developers have to charge by the hour and the need to get $30-$100
per hour for each employee or working partner to cover expenses.
So if you need 3 hours of help
at pageBuzz, we already have the money to cover that, while the
design firm will have to charge you $100 to $300 for the same
time because you took them away from paying projects.
Better Business
Model
Our business model is just
completely different.
We have a residual monthly
income from our users, so everyone shares the costs.
But when you are a small
designer, you need to make a certain amount every week to keep
the lights on, just like any business. You only get so many hours
a week that you can work, so those hours need to produce some
type of income or you can't pay your bills.
But we created a residual
model, so we have money every month to pay for everything and the
more we grow the more we can put into software development and
improve our product.
Since our model is not design,
we can do designs free and still make money.
As we build designs for
customers we learn what people need, the current look they are
after and what businesses need from programming.
We can spend 100 hours
modifying programs that webmasters would charge $10,000.00 for.
But we can do it at our expense, because when we add new programs
or features thousands of people get them, as they should. Because
they are in fact financing that time with their monthly fees for
website hosting.
Not only do you get 7 day a
week support from pageBuzz.com, you get continued software
development and tools that are constantly updated. To get that on
a one on one basis, you probably could not afford it.
But the fact is, you get one
on one support from us. If you need a design, we can do it, work
with you on a personal level and produce what you need for a
fraction of the cost of the design firms.
But our designs tend
to be more simple and for good reason. We
need you to be able to manage them.
So we try to work within our
tools to keep your costs down. Keep the pages manageable and
allow room for expansion nd growth as you think of new things you
want to add.
Most designers build static
sites that can't be modified and certainly not without expensive
and complicated software. After all, that is why you paid them,
because you could not do it.
But at pageBuzz, we simplify
the process and sometime people confuse simple designs with
functionality.
The fact is, we have more
programming resources than any webmaster could ever build for $1
million dollars because we have built our system over a decade
and continue to develop new website management tools.
We have proprietary tools like
our drag and drop page editor that don't exists at any other company or anyplace
online. We have built easy to use tools from the ground up and
have registered copyrights to prove it and also prevent anyone
else from using them.
We have proprietary backup
systems like our ARTB network software
and systems to keep unwanted bots off the servers all on top of
the great programming that runs our shopping carts, used car dealer software and other unique programs.
pageBuzz also runs dedicated
secure servers that handle functions like ecommerce credit card
processing so when you have sales, that component is already in
place on an ultra-secure server. The independent developers have
to buy an SSL Cert for a few hundred dollars, install SSL
software and try to secure the system on an insecure server. All
of that takes time and costs you money, while we have everything
in place and can charge pennies per customer to use it.
Running any SSL application on
shared hosting is just a data breach waiting to happen. And if
the web developer or design company is not an expert at security,
you could be in a load of trouble.
So systems like
pageBuzz offer a greater layer of security and
well as making the cost significantly less than the average
website design company.
The one thing I can
say about website design companies is that they know design,
they can create great cohesive designs but that costs you
money and the programming is usually very weak. They are also
very unfriendly for you to modify.
If they were willing to design
sites on the pageBuzz website builder, then you would have he
best of both worlds, but then they could not justify charging $10,000
for website design either and they somehow think that they
cheapen themselves being associated with low cost services like
ours. They try to hide the fact that you are on $5 a month shared
hosting and make it look like they are more professional to
justify the higher prices.
But when the low cost services
are better than what they sell for 20 or 50 times the price, who
is the really getting the better deal.
It is inevitable that
sitebuilders will replace webmasters and that is the current
trend for all the reasons I discussed. But there is still a need
for design firms for some companies that need services that
sitebuilders cannot.
But if you want more
for less, then pageBuzz is about the best you can get for the
money. It is not that we have a cheaper
product, it is because we have more customers.
It is the huge number
of customers and the years of development with them that make our
system better and cheaper. We all win.
