Webhosting for a
Jewelry Business
pageBuzz.com has always been a
popular platform for building Jewelry websites. Almost from the
day we opened we had a huge percentage of customers that created
handmade jewelry that were trying to sell on sites like ebay.
Of course the creation of craftersbuzz.com did not hurt either since we had thousands of
jewelers advertising their jewelry on that site as well.
Some of our jewelers are
simply resellers, others are wholesalers and some have very
unique had made one of a kind products.
We host full scale jewelry
retailers that have multiple shops in shopping malls and smaller
jewelers that have one location as well as the home based
jewelers that frequent flea markets and craft shows.
Having worked with all of
these jewelers one and one as they built their website has helped
us create the tools they needed to sell their jewelry.
For the wholesale jewelers we
have bulk discounts. so the people resell their products can get
discounts based on volumes ordered. For example, they can price
the first 100 items at $5 each and the second 100 items at $4
each or set over 1000 at $3 each.
We also have the group
discounts which allows merchants to group similar priced items
into larger groups. For example look at the dollar stores where
everything is a dollar. If you grouped similar priced items,
earrings, tongue rings, body jewelry that have the same price,
you can extend those discounts to all the items.
In that case, someone could
order 25 earnings, 50 tongue rings and 25 belly rings and get the
100 quantity pricing. Sort of a mix and match approach.
We also have the cart set up
to allow wholesale pricing which allows your regular wholesalers
to login and see and pay different prices than the retail
customers.
The wholesale pricing extends
through the options and discount groups and can be set up as a
percentage off or set prices on each item.
These are powerful tools for
jewelery wholesalers that are not typically found in smaller less
expensive shopping carts, but that are standard features in the
pageBuzz online stores.
Of course in our price range
most of the jewelers are smaller and either offer expensive high
end one of a kind items from retail shops or sell less expensive
handmade one of a kind jewelry from local events, fairs and craft
shows. In both cases, using the inventory control feature is
valuable because it allows limited quantities to be sold.
So if there is only one item,
when that item is purchased it will deduct the item from
inventory and prevent another buyer from buying the item.
Most of these features were
created specifically for jewelers because most retailers just don't
need them. But with a huge base of jewelers we have been able to
see what they needed, mostly because they told us directly, and
create those tools in the shopping cart ecommerce tools.
Now that did not happen
overnight. Developing some of the tools took hundreds of hours of
programming and were only cost effective because we had such a
large user base. That is the reason most ecommerce options don't
have those features and the ones that do are 10 times the cost of
pageBuzz and our $20 a month price.
But I think more importantly
that just having the tools jewelers need we have the support they
need.
Since jewelers are good at
making jewelry they are not usually website builders or graphic
designers. In many cases, they are completely lost when it comes
to running a shopping cart and building pages to market their
products.
So having people like us on
the other end of the phone who have worked on hundreds of not
thousands of website for jewelers is priceless.
We know what they need, what
they want and what they are trying to do, even if they don't know
themselves.
Now, we don't limit our
customers to just jewelry websites, because we are a full service
web hosting provider but we do have a lot of experience in their
market and can provide a unique insight into their online stores.
Jewelry websites have always
been a great source of income for our company, so we have been
fortunate in being able to cater to that market and grow the base
even further.
Not that we set up from day
one to corner the jewelry website hosting market, but sometimes
it just works out that way.
Having limits of 2500 total
products in the shopping cart also makes pageBuzz a bad choice
for large retailers with many thousand items and we did that
intentionally to keep the cost of our server as low as possible.
But in doing that, we limited our market to companies that have
small product lines.
Jewelers have small product
lines and can work with smaller inventory limits online. So it
was just a good match and everyone like saving money. So why buy
a $300/month shopping cart when you can get one for $20/month.
pageBuzz is a logical choice
for small jewelers websites for all those reasons and more. If
you are considering building a jewelery website either just a
catalog of products or with complete commerce give us a call and
see if we have what you are after.
Let talk about your business
what you need, what you have in mind and see if we can fit your
business into one of our $20 websites.
You will be amazed at the
level of service, the level of functionality and performance we
bring to the table. If you want an easy, worry free website with
7 day a week support, you don't have to look any further for the
right option.
