How hard are you
willing to work?
The question I always get when
people are looking to start a website based business is, "How
much money can I make?"
To which I always
replay "How hard are you willing to work?"
Hard work is really the answer
to all of your questions when it comes to making money with
websites.
With our own experiences
running our affiliate program we found that people all
want to make money, but none are willing to do what it takes.
Our affiliate program has huge
payouts and the potential to earn $100,000 or even $200,000 a
year in extra income and that is no joke.
So we would get calls,
regularly asking "how fast they can make money, I need it by
the end of the week" in most cases.
I would tell them, I can send
you money as soon as you get a signup, so sure, you can make
money by the end of the week if you go out and find me some
customers.
But what I get instead
of "Great, I am ready to get started"
I get, "well how hard do I have to work?"
Here is an actual true
story of one man that calls me and say, I am willing to do
anything. I am getting kicked out of my apartment this week,
my kids can't eat and I have no money. I need to do something
fast and get paid fast.
OK, I said, if you are
serious I will make you a deal. We will offer a free website
design to each person you can sign up, $300 value as long as
the person pays 1 year of hosting in advance. So for $240
they get a $540 value and i will pay you $150 of the $240.
Just go out, approach some
business owners and if you can get even 1 person, I will
overnight you the commission of $150. And of course if you
get 5 people $750. That is 60% of our gross and I am adding a
free website design on top of that so you can easily get
sales.
If you hustle, you can get
10 sales and make $1500.00 by the end of the week and I will
overnight the check to you or even Western Union you the cash.
The guy starts with, well,
can I do it from my computer? I don't really want to go out
and talk to people. That is hard work. I don't have gas for
my car, I don't really have the time.....
I said: If you need the
money, you will do it.
He says: Well, I have to
think about it and let you know.
Now, lets see, he has no
money, is being evicted and his kids will be homeless by the
weekend and I offer him a job and he says that is more work
than I want to do.
And I guess we know why he
is in the situation he is in. While I don't feel sorry for
him, I do feel bad for his kids.
When it comes to
any business you get back what you put in.
If you are lazy, you might get
nothing but if you work hard you should get quite a bit back out.
People expect websites to be
easy and they are not.
While the building of the
website is the easy part, getting traffic and managing any
business is hard work.
You want to compete with
walmart and sell widgets, that is not going to be a simple task.
On the Internet, you have to
compete with every single person out there in your field and many
of them are very hard workers.
I have seen forms where people
have posted thousands of posts in the forum in just a few months.
then I see websites that don't even have 2000 words on them.
That person in the forum has
done more work than the average business owner and people are
reading the posts and comments they have written. While the
business owner keeps call me asking why they don;t have any
website traffic.
And no matter how
many articles I write, no matter how many times I tell them to
add more content, they sit back look at a website with less than
100 words on it and complain, how they are not making money.
I have watched
bloggers become millionaires and millionaires go broke trying
to run websites.
and it all comes don
to the same fact, the one that works harder always make more
money!
There is no shortcut to
success. There is no easy button but there is a way to make money,
but nobody wants to hear about it, because it is HARD
WORK!
I wish I had a
dollar for every hour that people spent online looking for an
easy way to make money.
People will spend days
searching for an easy way to make money such as the case I noted
above. When a job presents itself they look for something even
easier.
I don't know what happened to
America and why people are so lazy and unmotivated, but they are
as a whole.
For those of us that are
motivated, do work hard and are willing to do what it takes there
are huge rewards.
As for Me
Personally
Being a millionaire is nice,
but it does not come without considerable effort. I love my
classic cars and nice home and all the luxuries I enjoy daily but
I have worked my ass off to get them.
People look at me and think,
that was easy, "I could have done that",
they think to themselves. But they don't see the years of 18 hour
days, the millions of dollars I spent and the hard work I put in.
I look at them and ask, "if
you could, why haven't you?"
They only see a nice guy that
does not appear to work very hard at least in their eyes.
Don't ever think that people
got what they have by sitting around and collecting free money.
Making money is hard and people that have money usually worked
very hard to get it.
When I suggested that the
nearly homeless person could go out and talk to business
owners and make money I was talking from experience. Because
that is how I started this business in the first place,
pounding the pavement except in my case, I was not being paid
and I still had to provide a product to boot.
So when I offer someone an
opportunity and they pass it up, I don't feel bad I don't
care, because if you really were willing to work hard you
would have all of the things you want.
Here I am with more success
than most people will ever have and I still work 18 hour days,
write articles, create new programs and manage my network. When
you are a hard worker it is just a lifestyle choice. Just like
being lazy is another lifestyle choice.
If you want to be
successful, stop looking for the easy solution and start working
hard to get where you want to be. The money is out there, you
just have to work for it.
