Small Used Car Dealers
make up a large percentage of our website hosting customers
because we have one of the only systems built for managing used
car inventory online.
We almost have an exclusive on
low cost website for car dealers since most companies that have
developed the tools to manage car dealer galleries online are
looking to cash in big and extract as much cash from each
customer as possible.
But as a software company, we
can make more money by selling it cheaper to more people than by
charging more to less people. So we have included all of the car
dealer tools right in the standard hosting system for our one low
price of $20 a month.
With over 10 years working
with thousands of car dealers, we have been able to give them
simple tools and keep up with changes in technology. So
we are heads above our competitors and a fraction of the cost.
But believe it or not, the
hardest part of this whole process is getting the used car
dealers to understand what we can give them, to understand the
Internet and that our tools are just one component of a website.
As a host we
struggle daily trying to make people realize, the website
design is not a function of the hosting company! Any website
host can host any website design.
Where we do stand out is with
our programming and that is how we attract customers, because
they can't get the tools we have anyplace else.
But
while we spend thousands of hours developing tools like used
car galleries, they are looking at the image size, the color
of the text and the way the page is laid out.
So we are on different pages,
we are in different worlds and to try to bring it all together we
have created multiple samples to show them the range of
possibilities with their own websites.
But we can only build so many used
car dealer website samples and can
only so so many designs. We have to build samples for ecommerce,
service businesses, review websites and so on. So while we would
love to have 100 used car dealer websites it is just not possible.
We
have even built samples like this website marksbuyherepayhere.com and I even shot a video of myself being a
used car TV pitchman to so the impact of video on
websites.
But it is almost
impossible to guess what any individual car dealer is
looking for and that is why we create custom designs for
each dealer that they like.
We used templates for
years, but so many went unused and under appreciated we
found it is better just to build custom for each car
dealer so they get exactly what they want.
Most used car dealers
think they have to choose one of the samples we have and
this is not even close to the truth. We or they can
create anything they have seen on any other website
anyplace on the Internet.

Car dealers will ask me to see
sample websites, and when I show them I often hear moans and
groans on their end of the conversation, because they want a
website that is different than our samples.
"NO PROBLEM",
I say. Show me the website you want yours to look like.
99% of the time it is
a competitor down the street who is selling more than them,
who they think has done it right no matter how good or bad I
might think the design is. They believe that is what they
need, and that is what we have to build them.
There are really no
limits to the design of any website on pageBuzz.com.
As we say, the only limit is
your imagination.
We put up a gallery of 30 plus
sample websites not to show people they have to use one of 30
designs, but to show them that here are 30 completely different
designs and all
of these are possible as well as millions of other designs.
Now the Internet would be very
boring if every host offered only 30 different websites to their
millions of customers. In fact, you would never know what website
you were on because they would all be exactly the same.
So I am not sure why used car
dealers are so short sighted when it comes to their own website.
They know the want spectacular and we can do that for them, but
the trick is figuring out what their version of spectacular is.
Look, some people like the
styling of a 1962 Rolls Royce and some like the styling of a 1972
Ford Pinto while others are avid fans of the F-Body Camaros.
Everyone has a different idea
of what the term pretty, or special means to them.
So as we build our
demo websites for car dealers we know:
They will
see a red website and think, hey, my colors are blue so I
can't host my website here.
The will
see a photo of a 1957 Chevy and say, I only sell new cars,
I can host my website here.
They will
see a gallery of new Chryslers and say, I only sell Fords,
I cannot host my website here.
I am sure they deal with the
same problems in their business every single day. Customers that
don't want to buy a car because the interior is the wrong color
or the ashtray is dirty.
A car could be a great deal,
priced at 50% below market value and someone may turn their nose
up at it because the hub caps don't match.
Now the dealer knows he can
replace the hub caps for about $50 and he tells the customer that,
but in the customers mind, that car just does not look right and
they will go pay 2 times as much to another dealer that does have
matching hub caps.
That is the same game we play
with car dealer sample templates and sample websites.
We know we can change anything
in just minutes, build any design or swap those hub caps for a
set of 20" wheels. But the dealer sees a lemon if they don't
see something that inspires them, something that makes them have
a jaw dropping reaction.
I am not sure how we
can really resolve that problem and consequently we end up losing
many potential car dealers who go and pay 10 times as much for
something we could have created in 30 minutes.
In many cases, they try
systems that only have a few designs like "Car Dealer
Search" who uses the same templates for every customer
and gives the customer no ability to change, modify or
customize it. They charge many times what we do and offer far
less. They have no website building tools, slideshow builders
or any of the cools car dealer features we offer. But, they
get the customer because the website was the right color when
they saw it.
But getting people to
understand website design is like getting people to appreciate
art. Some people like one thing and others like something else.
They don't know why or how to make anything that looks like what
they like, they just know one piece of art is better than another.
Unfortunately websites are art
and people to have to like them to believe in a product.
So no matter how good our
product is, no matter how good or network and technology are if
there is a blemish in the paint, we can't sell it.
Now I appeal to all
used car dealers, would you pass up a $200,000 Rolls Royce for $20,000
because it has a scratch in the paint? Or can you see the value
and have the paint fixed and sell the car for a huge profit?
pageBuzz.com has more to offer
the small used car dealer than any other website hosting company
and you can't judge what your website will look like based on a
few used car dealer sample websites.
