Paying A Professional Web Designer

First off, let me say there is no such thing as a professional web designer. That is not to say that many people are very good at what they do, but there is no recognized standard to evaluate or license webmasters.

There is where the problem lies. With no standard, the experienced webmaster who has built 300 websites is in the same playing field as the work at home guy doing one website a year from his garage.

The biggest point I need to make about people offering services is that the generally promise you the world. Open a website ad get rich quick.

If that was the case, why wouldn't the webmaster build their own websites and make all the money themselves. One reason, they can't. They make more by building your website than they would make if they built it for themselves.

The real webmasters are not for hire. Companies like pageBuzz develop sites that produce income. One after another. Our base is made up of hundreds of money making websites with over 500 of our own website domains. The annual fee just for the domain registrations is almost $5000.00.

If the sites were not making money, we could not pay it. But they do.

Unfortunately, you can't hire us to build your website because we are busy building our own. Why would we spend time building you a website for a one time payment when we know how to build sites that produce steady income.

So what about the people that are not busy? Why, if they know so much are they targeting businesses to make money designing websites?

In some cases, they know graphics and can put together awesome designs. In those cases, its worth the cost to have the design done.

But when the company is building your content selling you a 5 page website with a few lines of text, telling you this will make you money, you are getting ripped off.

I will be the first person to tell you that making money online is possible. "POSSIBLE".

If you work hard and use the website as a tool, a website is the most cost effective advertising medium. Existing businesses need websites. But you know your customers base, not some professional webmaster.

Businesses get led astray by webmasters that take their online business in a different direction than their actual business.

Do people change when they logon the net? Are your customers transformed into some web guru when they go home at night?

Probably not.

There are the same people you deal with every day. So who knows better what they want, what they need or what they expect than you?

Build the website yourself. If may not look like a Hollywood production, but chances are, it will better reflect your business tan some canned template with a full movie trailer.
