Build Websites
We have worked for the last
decade at pageBuzz to make building a website as easy as possible
and we think we have it right.
Of course, what people
perceive as easy is different for everyone, so many people will

too complicated.

WIX.com are easier and for all intent and purposes it is, but it

Wix is great if you just want
to use a ready built template, add a few lines of text and call
it a day. For many newbies, this is all they are after.
Unfortunately, after a couple
of months of no website traffic, no results and a website that
hardly does anything, people are looking for something better.
Not necessarily harder to use, but something that is move evolved,
more customer and search friendly and something that can add more
to.
And, many people come

hard since you have to actually create the content on the pages
rather than used pre canned templates that prompt you for basic
titles and text but once you build a website and realize it does
not get any message across, you realize that you need that

In the beginning those
template based ready made 15 minute websites seem like a great
option but then something happens, you actually build one of them
and realize how little it can provide. So now you are looking for

photos and create a custom website without too much work.
We know this though trial and
error because that is how we started, with a simple fill in the
bock approach like many of our competitors and it was mere months
before people had outgrown our system and were asking for more.
Unlike other companies, we
gave them more. We built and entirely new platform with new tools
and features so users could have more flexibility with websites
and build anything they wanted.
Of course we tried to keep it
as easy to build as possible. We simplified the tools and kept
the interfaces clean and straight forward.
But then our users
wanted more.
They wanted to add slideshows.
They wanted to add
animations.
They wanted to design
better pages.
They wanted better website menus.
They wanted menus on
the top and bottom, right side, left side etc.
They wanted to do what
they wanted to do!
So we added slideshow builders,
1, then 2, then a deluxe slideshow builder that allows all types
of transitions and photos with the ability to create up to 50
different slideshows.
Now, that all gets a
bit more complicated to use, because there are so many
options.
It is definitely much easier
to fill in the blanks with your name, address and phone number,
but that does not give you want you are after. So is easier
always better?
Based on what our
customers ask for, the simplest way may be the most attractive on
day 1, but in time it becomes less and less attractive and
eventually completely useless.
So as software and user
interface developers we have to try to find some middle of the
road ground to make new users comfortable enough to get started
with pageBuzz and give more experienced users the more advanced
tools they want all at the same time.
So we have created multiple
tools, multiple editors from the simple editor to the
professional editor. One is fill in the box, another drag and drop, another
basic html, advanced
html and the pro editors with css and html support with
professional tools.
To make the system easier to
understand we have added highlights when one editor is used so
the suers knows which editor they need to keep using when they go
back to edit the page.
It is sort of a
paint by numbers approach or dance in the footsteps painted on
the floor.
Because understanding website
design is actually very complicated, we have worked tirelessly to
make it easier. To provide tools that make it easy to understand
and to break down elements into their most basic form.
That does not mean we have
ignored the professionals, we have sections where they can tweak
the code or write their own and that way, you have complete
control over the website design. There is no element you cannot
control.
It is nice to lean to dance by
using a template with footsteps printed and arrows showing where
o go, but one you lean that, you want to create your own moves,
do your own thing and add a little personality to your show.
Our competitors have forgotten
that, they offer 15 minute website designs but you can't really
go beyond that and nobody will be happy with a 15 minute website
for much more than 15 minutes.
We know all too well that
people are looking for designs and will leave a rich based system
like pageBuzz in pursuit of the perfect design and often end up
at a system like WIX that has a template that they like.
People ignore function at
least in the beginning.
People will chase
the shiny red ball right in from of a car. Or is that dogs? I
forget.
People will buy red cars,
shinny and chromed out and ignore that the car does not run or is
mechanically a piece of junk. Because image is more important to
them than function because they don;t understand the difference.
But in time, they will.
When they drive that shinny
car to work every day and break down every day they realize, they
need something more practical. Maybe not as shinny, but something
that works better.
And that is the happy medium

Because our users build their
own designs, they tend to be less shinny, less spectacular but
they work 100% of the time and do what they are needed to do.
