Affiliate Programs

What is an affiliate program?

An affiliate program is a program that allows a merchant to enlist webmasters to help sell their product and reward them with a percentage of the sales. Basically it is hiring sales people on a commission only basis.

Affiliate programs are good tools for both earning revenue by refering sales to another persons website or to drive customers to your own website for far less than most other advertising would cost.

The advantage of using webmasters to advertise your product is that you only pay if they are sucessful. So you always make money. If someone sells a million dollars of your products you will gladly give them a commission, rather than paying for advertising up front and maybe selling nothing.

And on the flip side, you only get paid if you can get people to buy from a merchant website. So if you are trying to capitalize on advertising revenue, you will need to produce quality traffic.

We have created a list of articles discussing how to make money using affiliate programs as a webmaster or merchant. There are of course pros and cons to every game.
